The Roadblock was to count the number of Stalin and Lenin statues in the park, then proceed to a local bookstore. The number of Lenin statues was to be multiplied by 10 and added to the number of Stalin statues. The team member then must make their guess to the bookstore manager; if incorrect, a 10 minute penalty would be issued before another guess could be made. If correct, the team member would receive a copy of The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov, and flip to page 62 (the correct answer) to find a clue about their next destination - Bulgakov's flat - where their teammate and next clue would be waiting. In this leg's Detour, teams had a choice between Ride the Rails or Ride the Lines. In Ride the Rails, teams had to travel by the Moscow Metro to a later station where they would pick up food from a snack stand, which they would then have to deliver to a woman wearing a babushka near the statue of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Slavyanskaya Square who would give them their next clue. In Ride the Lines, teams had to travel by trolley to a later station to receive a key which would open up a locker at a Metro station to receive their next clue. This leg's Speed Bump required Andrew and Dan to learn, and then perform a traditional Russian dance to the satisfaction of the choreographer.
Additional Task
* Teams had to search the submarine amongst the crew members for the actor who appeared in the film The Hunt for Red October.

# - Ken & Tina arrived 3rd, but did not complete the Detour properly. They were asked to retrieve their clue before checking into the Pit Stop. This did not affect their placement.
* - Toni & Dallas misplaced their passports and all their money and were eliminated on the spot by Phil whilst they were still doing the Detour, after all other teams had checked in.
